(12 June 2022)- Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT) is a non-governmental, community-based, self financed, International Humanitarian organization and supporting health services, human rights, social empowerment, disaster preparedness, mitigation, disaster risk reduction, climate change, health risk management, capacity building, and relief activities that reduce the impact of disasters upon countries and communities for the low-income underprivileged people.

Muslim Foundation for Culture and Development (MFCD) is national level Non-Governmental Organization, and made significant contributions to the humanitarian and development initiatives in Sri Lanka. The MFCD is accredited as a member of the Asian Disaster Relief and Response Network (ADRRN). They work to enhance their role within the new global humanitarian agenda and focus on empowering local community base organizations and to enhance resilience in the disaster management. MFCD has large experience to work in emergency disaster management livelihood, orphan caring, water, sanitation, development, education, shelter and health.

As Sri Lanka recovered from the ravages of a civil war that ended in 2009, soaring to the status of an upper-middle-income nation. It built a tourism-based economy that brought billions of dollars, many jobs and middle class comforts, high-end eateries and cafes, imported Jeeps and Audis, and upscale malls. An economic crisis is disrupting life across Sri Lanka, an island nation off India’s southern coast that only recently had been outperforming its neighbors. Now, Sri Lanka just wants the lights to stay on. The neighboring countries have a great role to support during this crisis. Beside the Bangladesh government many organizations has come forward to minimize their miseries. Dhaka Community Hospital Trust (DCHT) and Community Initiative Society (CIS) in collaboration with Muslim Foundation for Culture and Development (MFCD) distributed 200 valuable food packs for the people of Galle & Colombo, Sri Lanka on 11 & 12 June 2022. With the support of MFCD, the DCHT medical team organized a health camp in Colombo with the provision of medication where they treated more than 400 patients. During the health camp and food packs distribution, MFCD Chairman Mr M.H.M Hanan, Secretary M.I.M Hasreem, local government and Ronjit Halder, Hashi Chakma, Shahadat Hossain, Dr Md Fuadul Islam, Dr Munjarin Awal & Limon Dutta were present as DCHT and CIS representative.

The Local government and MFCD team gave thanks and expressed gratitude to DCHT and CIS for the outstanding support for the people of Sri Lanka. This warm contribution reflects the close bonds of friendship as well as the good will between the peoples of two countries.
